Global education targets

Fulfilment of the MDGs' education targets

Through these initiatives, REACH-Education contributes to the education targets of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs): achieving universal primary education, promoting gender equality in education and improving literacy. By working for inclusive and equitable access to quality education for every learner, whatever their circumstances, REACH-Education is committed to advancing these goals and to educational development worldwide.

Three targets

In 2015 the Millennium Development Goals were succeeded by the Sustainable Development Goals. Their education targets continue under SDG 4, Quality Education.

Improve literacy skills across different subjects.
Review video instructions to understand topics better.
Take part in online discussions with peers on topics that interest them.
Use a range of resources presented in different formats.
Contact teachers online to clarify doubts or ask for help.
Use the online platform to search for, reserve, download and share resources.
Recommend resources to other students.
Write blog posts about subjects and resources.
Work with peers remotely on shared tasks.

What parents do

Notice the books their child chooses to read.
Review and give feedback on their children's academic performance.
Find expert advice and tips to help their child's reading.
Play reading and maths activities and games with their children.
Follow their child's learning progress.
Help introduce computer programmes in physical and mobile schools.
Use online resources, including e-books.
Get help and resources to improve their own reading, if they need it.

What teachers do

Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet diverse learning needs.
Give students constructive feedback on their progress.
